Recently, the JCAAI put out a recommendation for allergists to follow the practice parameters of the ACAAI and the AAAAI. These parameters are excellent references for, and cover numerous areas of, the allergy specialty.

In addition, third party payers are continuing to look for ways to cut costs and recently some have limited the number of aeroallergens one can test for. Future government oversight of healthcare may also endorse such cost containment moves.

Based on the above, now may be a good time to reexamine test lists and dosing schedules within your practice to ensure you are using the most efficient and effective procedures possible.
